How we show origin, and how we know.
Every coffee's origin follows one honesty rule: never claim more than the roaster actually published.
Granularity, not guesswork
We label the exact traceable unit: a named farm, washing station, mill, producer or cooperative, or only a region / country. A washing station is never dressed up as a “farm.”
Cross-roaster corroboration
When several roasters independently name the same farm or station, that is far stronger than any single page. 3+ roasters→ our highest “observed” confidence. This cross-roaster graph is the one thing no single roaster's site can show.
Evidence on every claim
Each origin field shows the roaster's verbatim wordsin the “How we know” panel, extracted by an LLM, then grounded against the source text. No invented farms, no inferred data.
Scores are roaster-stated
Cupping scores are shown as “Roaster-stated,”not independently verified, alongside the source quote. We never present a roaster's marketing number as an objective grade.
